Anderson Falls Short on Senior Day
Franklin College edged the Anderson University women's soccer team in a 1-0 decision during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at the AU Soccer Fields.

Jalynn Gorman put the Grizzlies (4-10-1, 4-1) on the board in the 68th minute with Taylor McDaniel on the assist. The Grizzlies snapped Anderson's four-match shutout streak. Anderson's four consecutive shutouts tied the school record, which has been achieved four other times in school history.

The Ravens (9-2-2, 3-1-1) outshot the Grizzlies 18-2 and held a 5-1 shots on goal advantage.

Morgan Reed (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) put together three shots, which include two shots on goal. Taylor Baker (Springfield, Ohio/Central Catholic), Harper Manion (Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) and Hannah Planck (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) contributed three shots apiece. Tori Baver (Garrett, Ind./Garrett) provided two shots, which includes a shot on goal. Bailey Dornbusch (Troy, Ohio/Troy) and Jessica Pulaski (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) each added a shot on goal. Katie Essick (Harlem, Ga./Harlem) and Emily Buchman (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) each tallied shots.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the match, Anderson honored seniors Dornbusch, Buchman, Reed, Ali Zoller (Speedway, Ind./Speedway), Sabrina Morrison (Bloomington, Ind./South), Hannah Keller (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mount Vernon), Bailey Scahill (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian), Emily Stout (Grand Rapids, Mich./The Potter's House), Courtney Maher (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon), Betsy Balish (Fountaintown, Ind./Triton Central), D'Anjrea Allen (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) and Kelli Mueller (Morton, Ill./Morton).
"It was a great day to honor our seniors and have been so proud of who they are and what they have accomplished over the past four years. This group has taken the program to next level, shattering numerous records and more importantly making countless memories and lifelong friendships. They have left their legacy on the program and have been an example of determination, heart, passion and love for their teammates, which has made it a special season."

UP NEXT
Anderson is scheduled for two HCAC matches next week. The Ravens take on Earlham College (7-7, 0-5) on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Richmond. Anderson then clashes with Hanover College (7-5-1, 4-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Hanover.
