Transylvania University edged the Anderson University women's soccer team with a 2-1 overtime victory during Tuesday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match in Lexington, Ky.
During the 44th minute of the match, Taylor Baker (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) delivered a game-tying goal, which was assisted by Taylor Fort (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights). The game remained at a 1-1 tied, before the Pioneers found the back of the net in the 94th minute for the win.
Baker netted her only shot on goal. Fort finished the contest with an assist, three shots and one shot on goal. Kaitlyn Revell (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) provided two shots and a shot on goal while Harper Manion (Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) tallied two shots. Elizabeth Graham (Riverside, Ohio/Carroll) saved two of the four shots she faced.
Both teams contributed eight shots each. The Pioneers held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Anderson (0-1, 0-1) clashes with Hanover on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Macholtz Stadium.
