Ravens Put Away Quakers with Early Goal
The Anderson University women's soccer team put away Earlham College with an early goal during Wednesday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Richmond.
Â
Hannah Planck (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) delivered a goal for the Ravens (10-2-2, 4-1-1) in the sixth minute of the match after capitalizing off a pass from Jessica Pulaski (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville).
Â
"We talk about seizing your opportunity, making it count and that's what Hannah did," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "It was huge to get an early goal and give us a little breathing room for the rest of the game. Every conference game is a battle and has to be earned."
Â
D'Anjrea Allen (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) saved both of the shots she faced for a shutout.
Â
"We did enough to keep the shut-out and D'Anjrea once again, doesn't have to make many saves, but always comes up with some key ones to hold the opponents off."
Â
Emily Buchman (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) recorded a team-high three shots on goal. Pulaski and Taylor Baker (Springfield, Ohio/Central Catholic) each posted two shots on goal. Planck and Morgan Reed (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) each registered a shot on goal. Tori Baver (Garrett, Ind./Garrett) turned in two shots while Harper Manion (Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick), Emily Albert (New Albany, Ind./Christian Academy of Indiana), Kaitlyn Revell (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) and Corissa Horton (Fountaintown, Ind./Triton Central) each added shots.
Â
The Ravens outshot the Quakers (7-8, 0-6) by a 16-6 margin and held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Anderson challenges Hanover College (8-5-1, 5-1) for HCAC position on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Hanover.
