The Anderson University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Thursday in St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
Lauren Brown was able to capitalize off an assisted pass from Brooke Neu for a goal to put the Ravens (0-0-1) on the board in the 32nd minute.
During the 42nd minute, the Pomeroys (1-0-1) knotted the match at 1-1 when Kaylee Lowe found the back of the net off an assisted pass from Sierra Mullins.
"It's great to see the growth and development from each game," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "Our possession and organization was much better than last week and we moved the ball around well. Brooke did a nice job getting in behind and finding the slot ball to Lauren. We just need to be more disciplined in the box as we were forcing a lot of shots and could have had a few more chances."
Freshman Adrienne Weyers made her collegiate debut in goal and saved three of the four shots she faced.
"The backline really played as a unit and Adrienne stepped up and had a great game in the net."
Neu and Taylor Fort both put each of their shots on frame. Emily Wilusz tallied two shots, both of which were on frame. Brown, Taylor Baker, Hannah Caes and Kira Dashewich each provided one shot and one shot on goal. Hannah Thompson rounded out Anderson's 13 shots.
The Ravens outshot the Pomeroys 13-8 and held a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Anderson takes on Webster University (1-0) on Monday at 1 p.m. ET in St. Louis.
