Ravens Fall to Grizzlies
The Anderson University women’s soccer team hit the road to take on the Grizzlies of Franklin College on Saturday. Anderson ultimately fell to the Grizzlies 2-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match.

The Anderson University women's soccer team hit the road to take on the Grizzlies of Franklin College on Saturday. Anderson ultimately fell to the Grizzlies 2-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match.
In the 20th minute, the Grizzlies (4-2, 4-2) would secure their first goal with a shot by Lilly Haines. The Ravens (3-3, 3-3) would have three opportunities in the first half, but were unable to capitalize on their chances. At halftime, the Ravens trailed the Grizzlies 1-0.
The Ravens would have a chance coming out of halftime, with a shot by Kaitlyn Miller (Sunman, Ind./East Central), but the Grizzlies goalkeeper was able to make the save. In the 61st minute, Haines once again found the back of the net, improving the Grizzlies score to 2-0 over the Ravens. A couple more chances came and went for the Ravens as they struggled to get past the Grizzlies defense.
Overall, both teams recorded seven shots, with the Ravens hitting three on frame, while the Grizzlies had five. Both the Grizzlies goalkeeper, and the Ravens goalkeeper, Elizabeth Graham (Riverside, Ohio/Carroll), saved three shots.
Miller and Taylor Fort (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) led the Ravens with two shots each, with Miller hitting two on frame.
The Ravens will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (6-1, 6-1) in HCAC action. Kick-off is set for 7PM.
