The Anderson University women's soccer team blanked Bluffton University in a 1-0 victory during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at Macholtz Stadium.

Taylor Baker (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) delivered a header goal assisted by Nicole Miller (Richland, Mich./Gull Lake) during the 18th minute.
"I was extremely pleased with the energy and focus we came out with [on Saturday]," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "We were back to playing our style and the combination play building up to the goal, with Nicole getting forward was well timed and Taylor following up and crashing the goal was an emphasis this week."
Players getting playing time on the defensive line included Nadia Bentley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas), Miller, Sarah Sexton (Monticello, Ky./Wayne County), Jessica McNeil (Eaton, Ind./Delta), Maggie Kolenic (Cleveland, Ohio/Newbury), Mandy Williams (Grand Ledge, Mich/Grand Ledge), Kaitlyn Miller (Sunman, Ind./East Central) and Breanna Montgomery (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg). Elizabeth Graham (Riverside, Ohio/Carroll) and Mallory Housman (Evansville, Ind./Memorial) put together a combined shutout in goal.
"The backline continues to battle hard together and it was great to get the shutout as well."
Taylor Fort (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) put both of her shots on frame. Baker, Corissa Horton (Fountaintown, Ind./Triton Central) and Kaitlyn Revell (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) each recorded two shots and one shot on goal. Jessica Pulaski (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) put her only shot on target. Tori Baver (Garrett, Ind./Garrett), Williams, Miller and Harper Manion (Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) each added shots.

"[Saturday] was a great day to Celebrate our Seniors and win as a team for them. They have each played with determination, heart and perseverance through everything and have loved seeing them grow as people and players over their time here. I know they will be successful in the game of life and am thankful for the ways they have impacted the team and have been #FAMILYSTRONG."
Anderson goes head to head with Defiance College (0-0, 0-0) on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Defiance, Ohio.
