St. Mary-of-the-Woods College edged the Anderson University women's soccer team with a 1-0 win on Saturday at the AU Soccer Fields.
The Ravens (0-2) outshot the Pomeroys (1-1) by a 23-5 margin and held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
"[Saturday] was a frustrating loss, as we controlled the ball movement and had our opportunities," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "Soccer is a game where excecution matters and we need to sharpen our decisions and better dictate the speed and pace of the game. As they showed, it just takes one and we need to make the most of every chance we get."
Taylor Fort (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and Lille Casey (Loveland, Ohio/Goshen) paced the Ravens with five shots apiece. Holly Garrett (Dayton, Ohio/Dayton Chrisitan) led Anderson with three shots on goal, putting each of her shots on frame. Casey and Fort each registered two shots on goal. Taylor Baker (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) provided three shots and one shot on goal. Harper Manion (Lebanon, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) tallied three shots. Rebekah Hisle (St. Joseph, Mich./Michigan Lutheran) put her only shot on frame while Nicole Miller (Richland, Mich./Gull Lake), Jessica Pulaski (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) and Kaitlyn Revell (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) each added shots. Mallory Housman (Evansville, Ind./Memorial) saved one of the two shots she faced.
Anderson clashes with Trine University (2-0-1) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Angola.
