Anderson Charges Past Bluffton
The Anderson University women’s soccer team took down Bluffton University in a 3-1 decision during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) battle in Bluffton, Ohio.

During the 34th minute, Taylor Fort delivered a pass to Emily Wilusz. Wilusz then made a cut around two Bluffton defenders and finished the unassisted goal, giving Anderson (6-3-2, 3-1) a 1-0 lead.
The Ravens went up 2-0 in the 39th minute. Fort made a pass to Brooke Neu, Neu passed it back to Fort and Fort provided a pass in the box. After Bluffton unsuccessfully defended the pass, Taylor Baker finished the pass for a score. Fort provided the assist.
Bluffton (2-8-1, 1-3) found the scoreboard in the 58th minute. Jordan Jennings served a free kick. Nina McGinn headed the free kick pass and Kelsie Gladieux headed the pass to produce the goal. McGinn and Jennings each received assists.
Anderson added an insurance goal with under three minutes remaining. Lillie Casey received the loose possession. Casey passed to Baker and Baker passed to Casey for Casey to score the goal. Baker earned the assist.
"It took time for us to find our style of play and possess the ball, but once we began combing and finding feet, our opportunities came," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "Emily did a great job driving in to create the first goal and it was a nice combination play by Brooke, [Taylor] Fort and [Taylor] Baker to secure the lead at half. I was proud of the pressure and intensity we came into the second half, as we were creating a lot of chances and was awesome for [Taylor] Baker and Lillie to combine and give us the assurance goal we kept working for all half."
Baker finished the match with a goal and an assist. The senior midfielder from Springfield, Ohio turned in five shots and two shots on goal. Casey notched seven shots and three shots on goal for the Ravens. Wilusz contributed six shots and four shots on goal. Lauren Brown put each of her three shots on frame. Fort provided three shots and two shots on goal while Neu contributed three shots and one shot on goal. Riley Schultz produced two shots and one shot on goal while Kylie Roberts registered two shots. Paige Tomallo put her only shot on frame while Kyndall Ferguson added a shot to round out Anderson's 33 shots.
Adrienne Weyers saved five of the six shots she faced.
Anderson outshot Bluffton 33-8 and held a 17-6 advantage in shots on goal.
The Ravens battle Defiance College (3-9, 0-4) in HCAC action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Defiance, Ohio.
