With the help of generous donations, the Anderson University athletics department has installed a golf simulator for use by the Anderson golf programs.
The simulator provides Anderson's golfers an all-weather practice experience with on-campus accessibility. Its ability to offer live repetitions in the wintertime will speed up athlete development.
"The golf simulator is a huge asset for the Ravens men's and women's golf programs," Athletic Director Marcie Taylor said. "It provides not only a place for the student-athletes to practice during the cold winter months and inclement weather, the golf simulator captures swing statistics and feedback that are valuable to the golfer's practice and improvement. We are extremely grateful to Carol and Dr. Joe Batdorf for their lead gift and the many significant contributions from golf alums and friends of the program that made this project a reality."
"Having the golf simulator up and running is a game changer for our program," Anderson men's golf sophomore Owen Mockabee said. "As a team, we've logged 35 hours on the simulator within the last week. We look forward to seeing our hard work pay off when we return to competition this spring. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this possible."
"I think the golf simulator is going to be great for the current team and especially building the future of the golf program," Anderson women's golf senior Mabrey Buis said. "It will help with player development during the cold and rainy days and it will be attractive for the upcoming recruiting classes."
