Bio

Jacob Nelson joined the Anderson University staff as a Sports Information Assistant in August 2023.

Nelson currently serves as the primary stat keyer for the Anderson Sports Information department. In addition to stats and other game day responsibilities, Nelson oversees all record books and game day programs for the department. Nelson also secondarily contributes to press release writing and all aspects Anderson Athletics social media.

Before arriving at Anderson, Nelson attended Trine University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at Trine, Nelson spent four years working as a Sports information assistant. He was primarily responsible for entering stats into play-by-play systems and public address announcing. Outside of sports information, Nelson spent four years on the Trine men’s lacrosse team.

Away from the classroom, Nelson was part of the Beta Omicron chapter of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He enjoys spending summers in Maine at a boys sports camp coaching lacrosse and hockey.
