Anderson Dominates Bluffton in HCAC Win

Returning back to action for the first game in the new year, the Ravens (5-6, 2-2) recorded an 81-52 victory over the Beavers (6-5, 1-3) in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) contest. The Duo of Lexi Dellinger and Payton Moore combined for a total of 43 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bluffton opened up the first quarter with the lead. Anderson quickly tied it 2-2 before Bluffton's Angel Schneider recorded a 3-pointer. This marked the Beavers only lead of the game, as well as their largest. With 7 minutes, 36 seconds, the Ravens would cut the lead to one before following up with a 3-pointer just 22 seconds later.
- The first quarter remained close between the Ravens and Beavers. As the buzzer was going off to mark the end of the quarter, Lexi Dellinger drained a 3-pointer, giving the Ravens a 18-13 lead.
- Anderson opened up the second quarter with a 6-0 run. Jade Shipley and Payton Moore each recorded a jump shot 24 seconds apart. Then, at 7:53 remaining in the quarter, Makynlee Taylor made two free throws to give the Ravens a 24-13 lead.
- At halftime, Anderson held a 13-point lead over Bluffton as they led the Beavers 36-23 heading into the locker rooms.
- A 26-point third quarter pushed the Ravens far ahead of the Beavers. Between 7:38 and 5:21 the Ravens went on a 10-0 run, marking a 49-27 lead. Then, between 4:06 and 2:37, Anderson knocked down another 10 points while Bluffton recorded 2.
- At the end of the third quarter, the Ravens led the Beavers 62-36.
- During the fourth quarter, the Ravens continued to improve upon their lead. With two minutes remaining in the game, the Ravens held their largest lead of the day as they led the Beavers by 34 points with the score reading 79-45 after Allison Shaffer recorded two free throws.
- The Beavers would make one final shot before the final whistle. Anderson defeated Bluffton by a final score of 81-52.

- Anderson knocked down 30-of-60 (50 percent) shots from the field and held Bluffton to 19-of-71 (26.8-percent) shooting. The Ravens drained 9-of-22 (40.9 percent) attempts from 3-point range while the Beavers made 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) shots from the perimeter.
- Anderson capitalized on second-chance points, outscoring Bluffton 19-6.
- Despite finishing -3 on turnovers, Anderson held an 18-10 advantage against Bluffton in points off turnovers.
