The Anderson University women's basketball team (3-2) battled past St. Mary's College (Ind.) (3-3) by a score of 83-77 on Tuesday in Notre Dame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens jumped out to a 22-9 lead early in the second quarter.
- The Belles trimmed the lead to 30-27 at halftime.
- The Belles held a 55-53 lead through three quarters and took a 65-61 lead with 6 minutes, 48 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
- Anderson then sparked a 13-2 run during the next 2:11 to take a 74-67 lead.
- The Ravens manage to go ahead 83-72 with 23 seconds remaining. The Belles scored five points in the closing seconds of the contest, making the final score 83-77.
- Anderson knocked down 17-of-42 (40.5 percent) shots from 3-point range while St. Mary's made 6-of-20 (30 percent) attempts from the perimeter.
- The Belles turned the ball over 23 times while the Ravens committed just 11 turnovers. Anderson outscored St. Mary's 26-12 off turnovers.
