Ravens Rally Past Yellow Jackets
On Wednesday, the Anderson University women’s basketball team came home with a 77-67 comeback victory over the Defiance College Yellow Jackets. The game, which took place in Defiance, Ohio, saw the Ravens (7-7, 4-3) come back after trailing the Yellow Jackets (7-5, 2-4) at halftime. Multiple Ravens contributed to the Wednesday night victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets opened up the first quarter with the lead after a basket made by Taylor Steinbrunner. The Ravens responded quickly with a Jade Shipley three.
- After the Ravens three, the Yellow Jackets would take the lead and hold it for the remainder of the quarter.
- Anderson trailed Defiance 10-12 to start the second quarter.
- Trailing the Yellow Jackets by one, Lexi Dellinger hit a pair of free throws to give Anderson a 15-14 lead with 7:35 remaining before halftime.
- The game then went back in favor of the Yellow Jackets as they took the lead back and went up by five with 6:50 on the clock.
- At halftime, Defiance led Anderson 30-23.
- The Ravens found energy coming out of halftime to put up a 19-point quarter.
- Payton Moore opened up the third quarter with back-to-back layups to come within three. The Yellow Jackets answered by extending their lead once again.
- Starting with 3:51 left, the Ravens closed out the quarter with five baskets, all of which were 3-pointers. Jade Shipley recorded one of the threes while Lexi Dellinger and Makynlee Taylor each had two.
- At the end of the third quarter, the two teams were tied 42-42.
- The fourth and final quarter marked the largest scoring quarter for both teams.
- Anderson began the quarter with a 12-0 run to give the Ravens a 54-42-point lead. The Yellow Jackets got their first point of the quarter with 6:58 left.
- After taking the lead to start the quarter, the Ravens would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the game.
- Both teams continued to put up shots, with the Ravens controlling the quarter to be able to bring home a 77-67 victory.

- Anderson finished 28-of-65 (43.1 percent) from the field, 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) from three, and 8-of-10 (80 percent) in free throws while holding Defiance to 27-of-78 (34.6 percent), 5-of-22 (22.7 percent), and 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) respectively.
- Anderson drained 13 3-pointers in a game for the second time this season and for the third time in school history.
- A total of 81 rebounds was recorded between the two teams, with Anderson notching out the most by one with a total of 41.

COACH JON GIN'S COMMENTS
I'm stoked for how the squad responded in the second half. This was a great comeback win. Jade [Shipley] was a huge spark plug for us and the bench's energy was unmatched. It feels great to get a road win against a tough team.
