Anderson Obliterates Mount St. Joseph with 3-Point Barrage
The Anderson University women’s basketball team (8-8, 5-4) had yet another historic day this season in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium, defeating the Mount St. Joseph Lions (6-8, 3-4) by a score of 88-42 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest Saturday.

At the conclusion of the game the Ravens had broken two records. Anderson drained 19 3-pointers as a team, crushing the previous record of 14. Lexi Dellinger knocked down 11 3-pointers, breaking the previous record of nine set by 2005 graduate Angel Hall.
The Ravens celebrated Alumni Day and the 20th anniversary of the 2001-02 conference championship team. Several of the team members were in attendance for the recognition that took place during halftime.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Anderson came out hot to begin the game, putting up a 30-1 first quarter over Mount St. Joseph.
- In the first quarter, the Ravens drained 8-of-11 3-pointers. Lexi Dellinger made 4-of-5, Jade Shipley hit 3-of-4, and Makynlee Taylor made 1-of-2.
- Mount St. Joseph's only point in the first quarter came from a free throw by Anyiah Murphy with 4 minutes, 22 seconds on the clock.
- The 3-pointers continued for the Ravens in the second quarter, with Anderson first three shots of the quarter being threes.
- Heading into halftime, the Ravens held a 47-14 lead over the Lions.
- Anderson put up another huge quarter coming out of halftime.
- Between 9:32 and 4:01, the Ravens went on a 18-5 run. Payton Moore tallied 10 of the Ravens during that timespan.
- After putting up a 26-point third quarter, the Ravens headed into the final quarter with a 73-29 lead over the Lions.
- The fourth quarter saw a closer battle between the two teams, but the Ravens couldn't be tested as they defeated the Lions by 46 points.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Anderson finished the game 33-of-62 (53.2 percent) in the field while holding the Lions to just 16-of-67 (23.9 percent).
- 19 3-pointers during the game broke the Anderson school record for most team 3-pointers in a game.
- Saturday's win was a team effort for the Ravens as a total of 25 assists were recorded during the contest.
- The Ravens capitalized off of the Lions 13 turnovers, turning in 20 points.
- The largest lead of the game came in the fourth quarter with 8:46 remaining as the Ravens held a 52-point lead over the Lions.
- Lexi Dellinger broke the school record for most 3-pointers in a game as she hit 11-of-16 threes to record 33 points in the Ravens victory. Dellinger also ended the game with eight rebounds and three assists.
- Jade Shipley contributed 24 points, four assists, two steals, and one rebounds.
- Payton Moore finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals, two assists.

- This was a heck of a team win with 25 assists! I'm super proud of our team for remaining locked in and focused after a great start with a 30-1 first quarter. Lexi [Dellinger] and Jade [Shipley] led us offensively with a combined 17 threes.

Anderson will now hit the road for their next four games. On Wednesday they head to Bluffton, Ohio to take on the Beavers of Bluffton University (11-5, 6-3). Tipoff between the Ravens and Beavers is set to start at 7:30PM.
