Anderson Fourth-Quarter Rally Falls Short

The Anderson University women's basketball team's fourth-quarter rally fell short to Franklin College by a score of 79-77 during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Franklin.

Franklin (7-12, 5-7) held a 72-59 lead with 5 minutes, 29 seconds remaining. Anderson (9-11, 6-7) then sparked an 18-7 run to close the game.

COACH JON GIN'S COMMENTS

This is a tough loss to swallow. We just dug ourselves too big of a hole to start the game. We weren't ready to go. But I'm proud of how our team responded in the second half. We rose up to the challenge and competed really hard. We stuck together; unfortunately, we came up short.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Franklin converted 5-of-12 (41.7 percent) shots from 3-point range while Anderson hit 5-of-17 (29.4 percent) from the perimeter.
• In the first half, the Raven went 0-for-8 from behind the arc while the Grizzlies made 2-of-5 (40 percent) attempts.
• Franklin outscored Anderson 12-4 on second-chance points.
• The Grizzlies held a 40-35 advantage on the boards.
• Anderson converted 27-of-61 (44.3 percent) shots from the field while Franklin made 26-of-61 (42.6 percent) attempts from the floor.
• The Grizzlies knocked down 22-of-32 (68.8 percent) shots from the free-throw line while the Ravens hit 18-of-25 (72 percent) from the charity stripe.
