Third-Seeded Lions Hand Sixth-Seeded Ravens Loss in HCAC Quarterfinals

Anderson (12-14) held Mount St. Joseph (21-5) to a three-point separation through the first quarter as the Lions led 20-17. Mount St. Joseph pulled ahead to a 40-29 lead at halftime. The Lions also outscored the Ravens by nine in the fourth quarter.
Mount St. Joseph committed just seven turnovers, including only two in the first half. Anderson turned the ball over 13 times. The Lions outscored the Ravens 13-3 off turnovers. Mount St. Joseph held a 47-35 rebounding advantage.
Mount St. Joseph converted 30-of-67 (44.8 percent) shots from the field while Anderson hit 18-of-58 (31.0 percent) attempts from the floor. The Lions knocked down 10-of-23 (43.5 percent) shots from 3-point range while the Ravens made 8-of-22 (36.4 percent) attempts. The Ravens drained 17-of-20 (85 percent) shots from the free-throw line while the Lions converted 13-of-21 (61.9 percent) attempts from the charity stripe.
Makynlee Taylor led the Ravens with 15 points and nine rebounds. Brynn Beard, Izzy Davis and Bella Larrison each finished with 11 points. Larrison collected eight rebounds while Davis came up with two steals. Lauren Smith scored eight points. Victoria Detraz tallied two points and one block while Neva Sheets rounded out Anderson's scoring effort with one point. Ella Turner also recorded two blocks.
Ellie Oldendick paced the Lions with 13 points and five rebounds. She also hit 3-of-6 (50 percent) attempts from behind the arc. Karlee Milles contributed 13 points and two assists. Morgan Jenkins recorded 13 points, two assists and one block. Chloe Jansen notched 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and one block while also knocking down each of her three attempts from the perimeter. Whitney Warfel tallied 11 points, three steals and one block while Hailey Guingrich contributed 10 points and two blocks. Madison Drummonds posted 12 rebounds, two assists and one block while Annabelle Williams added two assists.
